Galderma Agrees to Acquire ZO Skin Health for $1.5 Billion

Galderma, the company behind Cetaphil and Alastin, announced October 14 that it has agreed to acquire ZO Skin Health in an all-cash deal valuing the business at $1.5 billion. The acquisition has not closed. If you use ZO skincare, the announcement alone gives you no reason to change your routine.

Will your ZO products or prices change?

Galderma has not announced changes to existing ZO formulas, prices, or where you buy its products. That does not guarantee everything will stay the same after the deal closes; it means there is no confirmed product change for you to act on today.

Galderma describes ZO’s retinol- and acid-focused daily skincare routines as complementary to Alastin’s peri-procedure skincare. That is the company’s explanation of how the brands fit together, not evidence that either line performs better or that you need products from both.

When will Galderma take over ZO Skin Health?

The agreement covers 100% of ZO Skin Health, whose shareholders include funds managed by Blackstone and the Obagi family. Galderma expects the transaction to close in the fourth quarter of 2026 or early 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and other conditions.

If a ZO product already works for you, continue judging it by its formula, results, and value. Watch for specific announcements about formula, price, or availability changes before deciding whether to switch.
